Launch

What is a bundled launch, and how do you check one?

A bundle is a group of wallets that buy a coin in the same block it was created, almost always run by the creator. Here's how to spot one and what to do about it.

How a bundle works

On Solana, a creator can send the coin's creation and a batch of buys together, so they land in the same block before anyone else can see the coin. The buys come from many fresh wallets, so the supply looks spread out. In reality one person holds it all and can sell it whenever the chart gives them a reason.

Why it matters

A bundle that still holds 20% or more of supply is an overhang: every buyer after them is exit liquidity for those wallets. Bundles also make the holder list look healthier than it is, since the bundle wallets show up as separate holders.

A bundle that sold isn't the same as one that holds

What matters is what the bundle holds now. A coin that was 88% bundled at launch but whose bundle wallets have all sold is a different risk from one where they're all still sitting there. Trenchie reports both: the share bundled at launch and what those wallets still hold.

Snipers and early buyers

Separate from the bundle are snipers: wallets outside the launch block that bought in the very first second. Bots, usually. They tend to sell into the first pump. Trenchie flags snipers holding 15% or more as a red, 5% or more as a caution, and shows the first 200 buyers with how much each still holds.

Linked wallets

Bundle wallets are often funded from the same source, or keep sending tokens to each other. Trenchie's bubble map groups them (dev, bundle, linked, same-size, early buyers), and a linked group that includes bundle or dev wallets gets its own flag.

How to check a bundle

  1. Paste the contract address into Trenchie.
  2. Open the Launch panel: bundled share at launch, which tool it looked like, and what the bundle still holds.
  3. Open the bubble map to see whether the bundle is connected to more wallets than it first looks.

Questions people ask

Is every bundled coin a rug?

No. Some creators bundle to stop snipers taking the launch. What matters is how much the bundle still holds and whether it's selling.

Can I see bundles on pump.fun coins?

Yes. Trenchie records every pump.fun launch live, so for coins launched while it was listening the bundle, snipers and first buyers come straight from the launch itself.
