DEX paid
Screener sites let a project pay to fill in its token profile: picture, banner, description, website and socials. "DEX paid" means someone paid for that profile. It shows the team (or someone) spent a few hundred dollars on the coin. It doesn't show the coin is safe.
Boosts and ads
Boosts are paid bumps that push a coin up the trending lists for a while; ads are paid placements. Both are bought by whoever wants attention on the coin, which is often the people holding the most of it.
Community takeovers
A community takeover (CTO) is when holders take over a coin the original dev abandoned, often paying for a fresh profile under the community's name.
When paid promotion is a warning
Trenchie raises a caution for paid promotion on a falling chart (paid in the last six hours while the price is falling) and for heavy promotion on a cooling coin (lots of boosts and ads in a day while volume fades). Both are what an exit can look like from the outside: pay for attention, sell into it.
The Paid on DEX feed
Trenchie's Paid on DEX page lists every DEX payment, boost, ad and takeover for Solana tokens as it happens, with the time it was paid, the market cap when we caught it, and a quick check on the coin.
Questions people ask
Is DEX paid a good sign?
It's a weak one. It shows someone spent money on the coin's profile, which a scammer can do as easily as a real team. Check the launch, dev and holders instead.
How do I see when a token paid DEX?
Open it on Trenchie: the Marketing panel shows when it paid, at what market cap, and every boost and ad since. The chart can mark them too.
